| The introductory series is an 8-week series of classes designed specifically for the student with no yoga experience. These classes will introduce the student to the basic poses or "asanas" used in Iyengar yoga.
Iyengar yoga focuses on precise body alignment, the use of props to help students of all abilities perform the asanas, and an understanding of the therapeutic potential of yoga. The asanas build strength, flexibility, stamina, balance and aid in stress reduction.
At the completion of the series, students will possess the basic knowledge required to progress to the next level of classes.
Please arrive 15 minutes before class time for your first class so you may get acquainted with the instructor. There is no particular start date for the introductory series - you may join any time. Please wear shorts and t-shirt or tank top. Mats and props are provided, so no need to bring your own.
