Class Descriptions

Introductory
|
|
|
| Introductory level classes are for the student brand new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method of yoga. It is recommended that students study at this level for a minimum of 8 weeks to prepare for the ongoing leveled classes. |

Level 1
|
|
|
| Level 1 is an ongoing class for students with a basic understanding of the postures. The next level of asanas is introduced such as back bends, forward bends and strength building in standing poses, Sirsasana and Sarvangasana. |

|
Level 2
|
|
   |
| Level 2 is for students with a consistent Iyengar style yoga practice. Students must have knowledge of the standing poses and inversions and practice them with confidence. The level will continue with the practice of backbends, forward bends and arm balancing inversions. |
Level 3-4
|
|
|
|
| Students must have at least one year of steady Iyengar style yoga practice to attend these classes. Move advanced asanas will be introduced with further exploration of the body's mechanics. These classes are not meant for pregnant women or women on their mentrusal cycle. |

Mixed Level
|
|
|
| This class accommodates all levels of practitioners from Level 1 to Level 3, no beginners. The class will be adjusted to those in attendance. All are encouraged to come as several variations of poses will be offered so that all are challenged at their own level. |

Restorative Yoga
|
| Students are placed in supported positions with gentle attention directed toward the breath and calming the mind. All poses create specific physiological responses which are beneficial to health and can reduce the effects of stress and stress-related diseases. |
