BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas is dedicated to the Art, Science and Philosophy of Yoga in the Iyengar tradition. Randy Just opened the studio in June of 2000 when he decided it was time to dedicate a studio in Dallas to the teachings of BKS Iyengar.
Randy is a Junior Intermediate I Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor and the Director of BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas. His study of Yoga began in the early 70's, practicing postures from one of those 25-cent books found in a dime store checkout lane. During the mid-80's, he extended his knowledge by becoming a devoted student of Iyengar Yoga. Randy has studied with the Iyengars in Pune, India as well as many senior Iyengar teachers globally and throughout the United States during his two decades of Iyengar Yoga practice. He developed his strong personal practice by following the ancient path of Yoga as penned by Sage Patanjali as translated by B.C. Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar in his book Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Randy's devotion to Yoga, perfectionism and compassion for his students characterize a dynamic, precise teaching style. His innate sense of humor coupled with an insightful understanding of Iyengar Yoga both inspires and challenges his students thus enhancing the depth, clarity and focus of their practice.
BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas is located at 5539 Dyer Street, two blocks north of Mockingbird Station, between Greenville Avenue and Central Expressway. This renovated warehouse is a spacious 3000+ square feet with high ceilings and natural light reflecting onto beautiful hardwood floors. There are 2 studios where classes are held to accommodate busier times of the day.
