I am a 20+ year practitioner of Iyengar Yoga and CIYT Level 1, and started taking Randy's Hybrid Level 2 classes earlier this year (2023). Randy is extremely knowledgeable and caring, has keen observation, precise instructions and a laugh-out-loud sense of humour.  Randy's classes are always fun, yet individually challenging. I traveled to Dallas for a workshop and teacher training, and meeting Randy and the other teachers in the studio was so welcoming that I felt like I was reuniting with old friends. In just one year, my knowledge, confidence and strength has grown tremendously.

Randy is an amazing teacher! I take his classes over Zoom since I can’t do them in-person. He's a true master, blending fun, passion, skill, and support. Whether over Zoom or in-person, he ensures everyone is seen and supported. Randy's classes are inclusive and challenging, ensuring no one is left behind or pushed too hard. I love his advanced classes and have a blast experimenting with advanced poses. Also, Randy’s super funny!

Shoutout to David’s and Skyler’s teachings, too! They possess a deep passion for and skill in yoga.

The studio also hosts fantastic workshops and retreats.

I am a three-class membership person. I am solely on Zoom because I live in New Orleans and the studio is in Dallas. I mostly take Randy’s and Skyler’s classes but I love all the teachers. They have incredible knowledge and great compassion for their students. Though I am on Zoom the teachers are amazingly attentive to me. You wouldn’t think they can see if your kneecap is lifting, but they can! If you are considering taking a class on zoom, I encourage you do so!

I'm so happy to be able to participate in zoom-classes with Gulnaaz Dashti organized by Dallas Iyengar Yoga. One reason to participate weekly is that I can follow the class on Vimeo if I haven't been able to attend in person. When I have had questions someone has always answered them quickly. For me it has been valuable that not only Gulnaaz but also Skyler and Randy make the classes welcoming.

Randy’s classes are illuminating and nourishing to body, mind and soul. He teaches us important actions within and across families of asana. We move from simple postures where we stay to absorb and reflect and then build to touch dynamic and challenging poses following the trajectory of the actions. His sequencing comes from his practice and classes are always loads of fun, challenging and engaging. He teaches us how to love and deepen our own practice.

Randy is the best yoga teacher I have had in my 10 years of studying and practicing yoga in Asia and in Europe. The practice is quiet yet intense, the teachings are rich yet precise, delivered with compassion and care for the students. Each class is a masterclass. Even on zoom he is able to spot the smallest details qualitatively improving the practice and its understanding. The application of the yoga philosophy transpires in every class. Randy is very generous in his teaching making his classes the most comprehensive and transformational (and fun!) yoga experience.

I eagerly anticipate Randy's Sunday 2-hour workshops each week! Living in Italy, the Zoom classes have been a blessing, and Randy seamlessly brings the essence of his teachings through the digital screen. His classes are thoughtfully structured and the progressive sequences have led me to explore and achieve advanced asanas that once seemed beyond my reach.

His wealth of experience shines through in every class and I love how he generously shares anecdotes from his time in Pune, studying with the Iyengar family. He challenges each student to reach their fullest potential, with his precise corrections and personalized guidance. Plus, he has a great sense of humor which is an unexpected bonus that adds a layer of joy to the entire experience.

I discovered Iyengar after years of hot yoga and a growing frustration of wanting more than a physical experience from my practice. The gifted and caring teachers at BKS Iyengar Dallas provide highly individualized attention to each student, whether in person or online, through their extensive, in-depth, and impressive knowledge of the human form. This practice has been transformative for my body, mind, and spirit, and each of my teachers helps me to realize those connections. Iyengar is an essential part of my life, and I'm so grateful to be a part of this Dallas community.

One of my favorite quotes by B.K.S. Iyengar is “Yoga is a mirror to look at ourselves from within.”

Like many of us who walk through the door of this amazing studio unaware of the true meaning of yoga, but with the guidance of knowledgeable instructors of the Iyengar method our journey of yoga takes its course.

Classes on line or in person are keenly observed so the practitioner can advance and transform to see themselves and their body in their mirror and take that off the mat into their daily lives.

I have been a member for years and will be a member for a life time.

Have a great day.

My first time attending a class EVER but it was an amazing experience. The instructor was knowledgable and kind. I thought I would feel intimidated but I think no matter what level of experience the individual, it’s a constant learning process. I would definately return and recommend this location to anyone no matter the experience level.

In a society filled with distractions pulling you every which way, the Dallas Iyengar studio provides a respite where you can learn to grow in balance for your spirit, body, and mind. As a beginner, I found the studio to be incredibly welcoming and classes that are both accessible and challenging that allowed me to begin to build a foundation for my practice. In all classes I enjoyed being surrounded by a diverse group of practitioners that were welcoming, kind, and in Randy's classes a joyful humor combined with both physical and mental wisdom that always left me feeling better than when I started.  I would highly recommend the studio, especially for those like me who may be just starting out and looking a place to start to grow and develop in their practice.

I have been taking asana classes at the BKS Iyengar Yoga studio of Dallas for almost a year now. I am always impressed with the level of detail the teachers go to help students understand subtle movements involved in a particular pose. I usually take classes with David and he is always very attentive and quick to point out my mistakes. I highly recommend this studio and its teachers, you could not find a better place in the DFW area to start or continue your asana practice.

To say that Randy’s classes are a cut above the rest, is a gross understatement. His depth of knowledge and ability to convey concepts in an engaging way, challenges the practitioner, at any level, to go deeper and broader in the poses. The classes balance rigorous intensity with focuse and refinement. Like a really good piece of chocolate, you won’t want to settle for anything less.

Passionate and extremely knowledgeable BKS Iyengar teachers. Words are inadequate for expressing my gratitude to Randy and his continuous encouragement. Highly recommend for all ages and levels as there are classes to suit your needs, may it to manage your injuries, strengthen your entire body or to understand the postures.
